Surgery at Northern
The Surgery Center at Northern Regional Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that includes four integrated digital operating rooms, pre-admission testing, patient prep and holding areas, day surgery, endoscopy, family and visitor waiting, family consultation areas, 9-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and sterile processing. A Board Certified General Surgeon will see you at every pre-operative and post-operative visit.
All of the operating rooms have advanced built-in imaging systems with mobile monitors to assist surgeons in performing a variety of minimally invasive procedures. Other monitors give the surgical team immediate access to vital patient information, such as lab results and CT scans.
To enhance patient safety and reduce the chance of infection, the design of The Surgery Center was carefully planned to include a state-of-the-art sterile processing department. All sterilized instruments enter the operating rooms from one hallway and exit by a different route after they are used. A sterile storage corridor lining the center of the operating rooms protect these supplies yet afford the surgical teams easy access to what they need.
