(Mount Airy, NC) – (February 2026) – The Northern Skilled Nursing Facility has once again been named one of the Best Nursing Homes by U.S. News & World Report. The facility achieved an overall rating of 5 out of 5 and has a short-term rehabilitation rating of “High Performing”, the highest possible score.
For the 2026 rankings, U.S. News & World Report evaluated nearly 15,000 skilled nursing facilities across the United States using rigorous quality measures that assess outcomes for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. Facilities that earn a “Best Nursing Home” designation meet high thresholds for performance in areas such as staffing consistency, resident outcomes, health inspections, and quality indicators.
“We are grateful to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report for this prestigious honor,” said Joy Gilman, Chief Nursing Officer at Northern Regional Hospital. “This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care, and it’s a testament to the hard work and passion of our doctors, staff, volunteers, and the incredible leadership of Jenny Triplett, Director of the Northern Skilled Nursing Facility, and her team of dedicated caregivers.”
