Mount Airy, NC – [June 27, 2025] – Northern Regional Hospital recently wrapped up another successful year of Camp Med, a week-long summer program designed to introduce local high school students to careers in healthcare.
Thirty students representing 11 area high schools participated in hands-on learning experiences, hospital tours, and mentorship sessions with Northern Regional’s clinical and administrative staff. The students explored a wide range of medical skills and specialties, including intubation techniques, OB care, operating room procedures, and even cow heart and pig dissections. Each participant also earned their Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
