Hospitalist Care During Your Stay
These physicians will work closely with you and your primary care physician to provide the best possible care while you are in the hospital.
What is a Hospitalist?
A Hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients in the hospital and who usually does not have an outpatient medical office practice. Most Hospitalists are general Internal Medicine physicians or Family Practice physicians.
Nationwide, primary care physicians are referring their patients to Hospitalists when their patients are admitted to the hospital.
During your hospital stay, you will be seen by a Hospitalist. You will be referred back to your regular doctor for an appointment soon after discharge from Northern Regional Hospital. If you do not have a regular physician, arrangements will be made for you to follow up with one prior to your discharge from the hospital.
