Northern Pediatrics honored by Virginia group

Northern Pediatrics, a department of Northern Hospital of Surry County, was recently honored by a top medical insurer from Virginia, even though the clinic is located in North Carolina.

Virginia Premier Health Plan has awarded Northern Pediatrics the Practitioner Golden Globe Award, a recognition that is given to one practitioner a year out of the hundreds of potential nominees throughout Virginia and a few neighboring communities along the Virginia border.

Visitor Restrictions Update: Effective February 10, 2026

Due to community transmission of influenza and COVID-19, Northern Regional Hospital is strongly encouraging masks for all visitors.

Visitors should postpone their visit if they have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, a cough, sore throat, and/or a fever of 100 degrees or higher. Visitors should be free of symptoms and fever for at least 24 hours. If visitors are actively coughing but have no other symptoms, they should be offered a mask.
